Welcome...
This Site
This website is the only official website for Duncan Lamont. It is run with
Duncan's blessing and he is contributing to it himself . You will find advice on
practise, performance and various other saxophone techniques. Also Duncan is
breaking down his various compositions and arrangements which we are posting as
they arrive.

Stop Press
Duncan's concert with his 22 piece powerhouse
big band at the Pavilion Theatre, Bournemouth April
2006 More information to follow. The incredible thing with Duncan's
concerts is that they are specially commissioned, brand new arrangements and
suites which is something we can't think of that happens anywhere else in the
world! If you are tired of going to concerts and hearing the same old
things churned out, get down to Bournemouth for this one.
Last November Duncan was asked to write the music for
the 1st new Mr Benn TV show for 30 years commissioned by Nickelodeon. Duncan had
to use some of the original music (for which sadly he didn't have the original
scores) as well as composing new material. It's called Mr Benn - Gladiator and
was wonderful. There is a complete Mr Benn DVD coming out this year which
contains
interviews with Duncan and Benn's creator David McKee. And this time Duncan used
his real name for the credits and not Don Warren. We attended the recording for
the show at Gateway Studios and have included some pictures in gallery 2. You
will find a link to the Mr Benn website in our links page.
Our sister site
sfg publications is now
live. Here you will be able to not only see Duncan's scores and arrangements but
also listen to them in mp3 format, see the 'News' section on the left for more information.
Duncan has a new book out: How to Play Chords on a Keyboard
in 15 Minutes. It works, we've tried it..it's great.
Duncan has mentioned to us that he has gathered far
too many tenor saxophones and will be selling a couple of his Selmer tenors and
a vintage Conn Ladies Face tenor. These will be the same instruments he used on many recordings
and TV.
